The Advancements Folder was a folder generated within the data folder of the world save, and was a location where custom advancements could be added. This is not to be confused with the advancement folder, which holds the default advancements that generates within the world save.
Obtaining
In 17w13a, advancements replaced achievements, and were designed to support custom advancements. This implementation added a folder that would be generated in each world allowing for custom advancement files to be stored. This was the advancements folder, which generated completely empty within the data folder of the world save <world>/data/advancements. This was no longer required after 1.12.2, due to the introduction of datapacks, but the folder remained.
