In 25w03a (1.21.5 snapshot), new buckets of axolotl did not save the variant of the axolotl it picked up. These buckets of axolotl update into later versions where the variant is always saved in the bucket of axolotl, which makes the no variant bucket of axolotl discontinued.

Obtaining

In 25w03a, bucket of axolotl components were changed to save the variant (color) of the axolotl as a string instead of an ID number. This caused a bug that any axolotls picked up using a water bucket would not have their variant saved in the created bucket of axolotl. This made buckets of axolotls with variants discontinued in 25w03a. These no variant buckets of axolotl can be updated into later versions and will remain without a variant. These buckets of axolotl are missing the minecraft:axolotl/variant component.

Usage

The bucket of axolotl without a variant will always spawn a lucy (pink) axolotl.

Observability

A bucket of axolotl without a variant has only 11 components.

Buckets of axolotl with no variant will only have 11 components instead of the expected 12 which can been see with advanced tooltips on (F3 + H). If the bucket of axolotl is renamed, an extra component should be expected.
