Java Edition:Dead Bush (Item)
Dead bushes were obtainable in Beta 1.6 Test Build 3 in debug chests. From 12w05a (1.2.1 snapshot), dead bushes can be obtained when destroying dead bush block using shears.
Obtaining
Beta 1.6 Test Build 3 Debug Chests
In Beta 1.6 Test Build 3, any newly generated world would contain up to 11 debug chests with every item in the game. The dead bush item was obtainable in the chests 2nd and 5th from the left in the 4th and 15th slots respectively, in stacks of 64.
B Creative
In versions RC1 and 11w49a (1.1 Snapshot), pressing B toggles the player between Survival and Creative mode. This allows the player to access the Creative Inventory where the player can grab Dead Bushes.
Shears
Dead bushes are obtainable using shears from 12w05a through 26.1 Snapshot 3 (present).
Shrub and Green Shrub Conversion
All shrubs and green shrubs converts to dead bush since 17w47a.
