From 1.18 experimental snapshot 2 to 1.18 experimental snapshot 7, a new data tag called CustomeSpawnRules[sic] was added to monster spawners. This tag was used set the BlockLightLimit tag.

Obtaining

Natural Generation

To obtain a monster spawner with the CustomeSpawnRules data tag, it must be found within the world and cannot be placed with the Monster Spawner (Item). Monster spawners can generate in any of these Structures. The monster spawner can then be updated out of the version to preserve the data tag and it's functionality, however, the player should avoid updating the world to 1.18 experimental snapshot 7 as it is a Potentially Dangerous Version which will delete all data on all loaded monster spawners.

Uses

Weaponless Mobs

Mobs spawned by monster spawners that have the CustomeSpawnRules data tag will not spawn with Armor, Tools, or Weapons if the mob is normally able to spawn with them.
