A glitch in the 1.16 snapshot 20w21a allows the player to obtain a piglin on any mob existing in the snapshot that could ride a boat with a couple exceptions. These jockeys are also possible in the April Fools' snapshot 22w13oneBlockAtATime. The piglins can also later be zombified in later versions.

Obtaining

Boat Mounting

First, the base mob or jockey must be put in a boat. The mob/jockey should, for any permanent set up, be put in the nether because a piglin will dismount the entity upon zombifying. Next, the piglin must attempt to enter the boat by getting it within mounting proximity. The boat can then be optionally destroyed to just leave the jockey. If the mob or jockey is a piglin then another piglin can't enter the boat.

In the April Fools' version 22w13oneBlockAtATime, the player can pick up nearly any entity to create mob stacks in any combination. This powerful method also allows for most piglin jockeys from the boat method to be obtained and other entity piglin jockeys to be obtained.

This feature can crash your game. Perform at your own risk.

Piglin jockeys can be zombified in the overworld/end from versions 1.16.2 Pre-release 1 to 1.21.4 Release Candidate 3 (present). From 20w21a to 20w29a, the piglin would dismount upon zombification. The only version that would cause the game to crash was in snapshot 20w27a.

Oversized

The piglin jockey can be combined with the oversized mobs in boats from 1.9 snapshots. This allows piglins to ride mobs that won't fit in boats in 20w21a. These include skeleton horses, elder guardians, large slimes, large magma cubes, spiders, spider jockeys, and even the ender dragon^[test].
