Java Edition:Tamed Zombie Horse
Zombie Horses cannot normally be ridden, and as such cannot be tamed. However, there are methods that allow one to bypass this restriction, and tame the horse.
Obtaining
First, regardless of the method used to tame, one must obtain a Zombie Horse. Thankfully, they are also available in both versions they are able to be tamed in.
22w13oneBlockAtATime Mob Wrestling
Using 22w13oneBlockAtATime's mob wrestling mechanics, it is possible to force another player to ride a zombie horse. This method works in a server with at least 2 players, so it is impossible in singleplayer.
Use these steps to tame the zombie horse:
- Pick up the player that will tame the Zombie Horse
- Pick up the Zombie Horse, then wait until the player falls off the horse
- Place down the Zombie Horse
Repeat until the Zombie Horse is tamed.
23w13a_or_b Rideable Entities Vote
In the April Fools' snapshot 23w13a_or_b, one vote that can be approved is the rideable_entities vote, which allows players to ride a random entity, the Zombie Horse being one of the possible selections. When approved, any Zombie Horse can be ridden and tamed as one would tame any other horse.
Behavior
Tamed Zombie Horses allow them to be ridden, saddled, and controlled as any other horse can. They cannot be bred.
