Monster Spawner
The Monster Spawner is able to spawn mobs of a particular type making it fairly useful for farms and other mechanics that require an abundance of mobs. The Spawner is obtainable as an item in both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition and can be modified with spawn eggs in the Java Edition. While not strictly necessary a monster spawner can aid in getting certain mobs or jockeys that need specific spawn requirements, some of these include:

Discontinued Features
Here are some discontinued features featuring monster spawners that can be found in Java Edition:
- Custome Spawn Rules Spawner [sic], a nbt variant with a useless tag.

- Spawners in a minecart that can only be used to spawn pigs.
