The Ender Dragon is only supposed to be in the End, but due to a bug from 1.5.0[test] to 1.6.0 they can travel to the Overworld and the Nether.[1]
Obtaining
The Overworld
The ender dragon must be summoned in the End through normal means. Every player who is in the End must die and go back to the Overworld. Then travel back to the end. The dragon should not be there. Return to the Overworld, and the ender dragon will be there.
The Nether
Perform the method for the ender dragon to go to the Overworld. Then a Nether portal should be placed, and the ender dragon should fly through the portal and go to the Nether.
Trivia
- This bug can be potentially destructive to your world, as the dragon will destroy most blocks it flies through.
- It will stay near 0, 0 due to it trying to stay close to the End island regularly.
- From Pocket Edition alpha 0.17.0.1 to Bedrock Edition beta 1.6.0.5, ender dragons are able to travel through portals, which allows for the player to send them into the Overworld if they have obtained an end portal item. This is not a retainable method of obtaining ender dragons outside the End without external editing, as ender dragons sent into the Overworld in this fashion disappear once they are unloaded in any way, which includes exiting the world or having the player enter a different dimension.
