In 1.2.0.2, the farmer villager was able to sell 5-7 apples. Later in the game, the developers changed the trade from 5-7 apples to just 5, discontinuing the 6-7 apple trade for good.
Obtaining
Farmer Villager that spawn normally or cured from zombie villagers in 1.2.0.2 have chance of spawning with a 6-7 apple trade. This trade will be on the 8th trading slot, and it will always be 1 emerald for 5-7 apples.
