TNT is normally supposed to explode once lit after a set amount of time, but by unloading the TNT just before exploding, it can get stuck in an unexploded state.

Obtaining

Nether Portals

One method to obtain this discontinued feature is with nether portals through a couple simple steps.

  1. Light the TNT.
  2. Push the TNT through a portal 40 Redstone ticks after being lit.
  3. Go through the nether portal.

If you follow these steps, the TNT will be stuck in an unexploded state.

Additional Information

  • The TNT is not destroyable through normal means such as lava, explosions, or cactus, and can only be removed with the /kill command or the void.
