Minecraft Discontinued Features Wiki:Main Page Changelog

This page is used to document the changes implemented on the Main Page. Many major changes are implemented and tested on the Beta Main Page before making an official appearance on the Main Page. The lead designer and developer of the Main Page and it's graphical design is Left-Eye, any criticism or suggestions, along with any issues, should be reported to him.

Versions 1.1.5

Changes:

• Moved Main Page to a script only page. Very small update but will unfortunately break all past versions that relied on sub page templates :(.

Versions 1.1

Changes:

• Update main page "Minecraft Discontinued Wiki" logo to the winner of the wiki logo update vote.
• Slightly increased logo size to make main page headed more symmetrical.

Version: 1.0

Changes:

• Changed entire layout and structure of the Main Page and how it works.
• Changed Main Page, from a list that needed to be manually changed every time a new feature article was created, to a simple set of useful links to main categories that will update dynamically.
• Changed everything to have a splash of color.
• Tweaked page header to accommodate new design.
  • Added wiki logo with text.
  • Added links to useful or important pages.
  • Other tweaks to wording and such.
• Completely redesigned definition and discord section.
  • Changed sizing.
  • Updated definition of what "Discontinued Features" are.
  • Made section hideable.
• Completely redesigned gallery.
  • Now has more than twice as many images.
  • Implemented a better gallery with hover popups and images that fit together dynamically.
  • Made section hideable.

Additions:

• Added "Types of Features:" section.
  • Has links to all important categories.
  • Has sprites to better help with digestion of what each category covers (plus it looks really cool).
  • Also has links to WIP pages for those who want to help out.
• Added "Popular Pages:" section.
  • Has links to the most sought after, or simply "clickable", feature articles.
  • Does not update dynamically based on what pages are the most popular based on user interaction (will update dynamically in a different way in the future).
• Added "Version List:" section.
  • Has a full list of all major versions of Minecraft (may change in the future, if version numbers become too high).
  • Has links to other less useful and more niche categories.
  • Has sprites to add a basic idea of what each version was about (plus it looks really cool).
• Added Wiki Info sections.
  • "Important Links:" has, well, important and relevant links.
  • "Wiki Information:" has important and useful information on the Minecraft Discontinued Features Wiki.
  • "Tutorials:" has useful and important links to tutorial that relate to discontinued features.

Version: Beta

Due to the Main Page being a simple sectioned list of pages prior to 1.0 the only thing that will be provided is a Basic Overview:

• Main page is a basic list of all pages.
  • List is sectioned by feature category.
  • "(WIP)" is added to any pages that aren't fully complete.
  • List is ordered alphabetically.
• Has an introductory section telling you how many people work on the wiki and the number of articles on the wiki.
  • Has the basic wiki logo located to the left.
  • Has link to Bedrock edition version of this wiki
• Has section with basic definition of discontinued features and link to community discord.
• Has basic gallery of a few feature images.
