Specific Definitions

  • These features only use basic file explorer functionality, this includes cutting, copying, pasting, moving, renaming, and deleting files.
  • These features do not use specific third party software, use whatever file explorer you want.
  • This DOES NOT cover editing file contents, only file names, we do not cover whats possible using third party software like NBTEditor or MCEdit.
  • This also DOES NOT cover the absolute extent of discontinued features possible using basic file explorer functionality, rather only what is absolutely necessary to load otherwise incompatible worlds.

Warning

All of these features require renaming, deleting, or moving the world's level.dat file in order to have an otherwise incompatible world be loaded into specific versions, this file is absolutely required, and essential to load a world. If your world does not appear when in game, it was either incorrectly named or misplaced. Follow the instructions provided on each feature article carefully, and back up worlds before attempting!
