Water Transmutation is a method which allows blocks to be given data values from 1 to 15. It can be performed from ?[test] to TU13[test]. It works by pushing a block into a place where water is going to flow. This gives the block the data value of the water that was going to go there.

There are 2 versions of the machine. One of them allows for data values 1-7 via regular flowing water, and the other one allows for 8-15 via falling water.

  1. Place the block you want to convert in the machine
  2. Place a redstone torch placed on top of it.
  3. Place the water, depending on what data value you want. The farther to the block it is, the higher the data value will be.

The water will then flow onto the redstone torch and the block will be transmutated.

Obtainable Blocks

The following can be obtained as items(?):

The obtainability of invalid data value wooden slabs, stone slabs, wooden double slabs, quartz blocks, sand, stone, dirt, sponge (if obtainable and if broken when wet sponges are added), iron bars, glass panes, cobblestone walls and possibly other blocks is currently unknown.

Trivia

  • This method is very similar to a method of the same name in Java Edition. The last title update it works in is TU13, which is the equivalent to Java Edition 1.2.1. 1.2.1 is one of the last versions that the glitch can be done in Java Edition.
