Moving Piston, also known as block 36 due to it having the ID 36 before 17w47a, is an item that could be obtained by loading white cloth from Indev in versions, Beta 1.7 to 13w36a (1.7 snapshot). Due to the fact that this item doesn't actually have an in game name it will be referred to by it's block ID, minecraft:moving_piston. This item cannot be used to place a moving piston.

White cloth from Indev had a numeric ID of 36, identical to moving piston. If white cloth is left in a chest and converted to Beta 1.7, it'll convert to moving piston. The conversion only occurs if the chest containing the item is not opened until Beta 1.7 or later, otherwise it'll cause the game to crash.
