Console Edition:Item Duplication Methods
To do: Many of the beginning versions need to be checked
Throughout the history of Minecraft Console, and across all of its many consoles, a large number of duplication glitches have been introduced. These allow the player to replicate items much easier than would be normally possible in survival making the game much easier. Be warned though, because most duplication method will give ghost items, meaning they cannot be placed, or dropped. To turn these items back into regular items, they need to be crafted with.
Furnace or Dispenser Understacked Item Method
Main page: Understacked Items From TU0[test] up until TU2, there existed a number of methods that allowed for the creation of Understacked items. These items could then be used to create "infinite" copies of the original item, if the player continually presses place one (In the inventory) until the Understacked item stack reaches 0 and loops back to 64. There are a number of different ways of preforming this, but the easiest are as follows:
- The single player method: First begin by placing the item you wish to understack into a furnace. Then begin to mine the furnace with a pickaxe. When the furnace is just about to break, swap to a tool that is not efficient at breaking furnaces (Sword, Shovel, Hoe, etc), and finish breaking the furnace. Once the furnace is broken, open it and hold split stack on the item. After a few seconds the furnace should break, and drop the item. Simply just drop any of the remain items (of the same kind you want to understack), out of your inventory and onto the floor. Finally just pick up your understacked item.
- The multiplayer method: First place down a dropper, and place the item you wish to understack inside. Next have a second player break the dispenser while the first player is still inside its GUI. The item inside the dispenser should then be understacked, and the first player can take it out and place it anywhere in there inventory (Except their hot bar apparently[test]).
Ghost Block Method
From Xbox 360 Build 1.66.0033.0 up until TU19 [test], there existed a glitch which allowed you to duplicate any item that could be crafted from a block (eg. Diamonds from Diamond Block, Wood from Logs). To preform this glitch a player must have the most efficient tool to break the block they wish to duplicate (eg. Pickaxe for Diamond Blocks, Axe for Logs). The player must then break the block, swap to the hand holding it, and place the block in the same tick. If this is done correctly the player should have a ghost block in their inventory and a block placed down. Attempting to place the ghost block, or picking up more of the same kind of block deletes it, however the player can still craft with the ghost block without deleting it, allowing them to craft the block into item form, then mine the placed block and repeat the process. This glitch can be very fiddly and can take many tries. It is best to use an auto clicker (if possible) and do it on as high lag as you can.
Zero Tick Block Method
From TU4 up until TU13[test], there existed a bug that allowed you to duplicate any block in the game, that can be pushed with a piston. In order to do this, the player has to place a sticky piston facing up, with a block with one piece of redstone dust behind the piston. Then place a block on top of the redstone dust, with a lever facing toward the piston. Next place the block you want to duplicate onto the piston, and flick the lever. If this was set up correctly the piston should push the block into the lever, duplicating the block. To collect it, simply mine the top block, then the bottom one. The top block should then regenerate allowing you to mine it one last time, and collect it.
Anvil Dupe
From TU14 up until TU19[test], you where able to duplicate items (that can be crafted in a crafting bench), with an anvil. First you must get an anvil and place it down. Next click on the anvil and divide your chosen items (you need at least 4), into two halves. Then simply quick move both stacks into the anvil. If done correctly this should leave one item in your inventory. Next quick move the items out of the anvil, and they should split into two stacks, with double the amount of items you put in (eg. If you started with two stacks of 3, you would end up with two stacks of 6). Finally to make the items real, so they can be used and placed, simply open the crafting menu, and craft with the items you have duped.
Nether Portal Method
From TU19 up until TU21 [test], you where able to duplicate blocks in item form (eg. Diamond Block) by pushing a minecart with chest through a nether portal and removing the items as it goes through. Like the ghost block method, you must then craft the blocks in your inventory, into items, before entering the portal. Once you enter the portal you can then break the minecart with chest and collect your other items.
Crafting Table Duplication
From TU24[test] until TU46[test], you where able to duplicate items by crafting them into and out off block form. To do this begin by getting two or more of the block you want to duplicate, and filling the rest of your inventory with anything else. Then face the top part of the crafting bench, where the 3 x 3 grid is. Next open the crafting bench, and craft the blocks into items and then the items back into blocks. Continue doing this until you notice more blocks / items going into your inventory each loop.
Chest Dupe
From TU24[test] up until TU75[test], you where able to duplicate items simply by placing them into a chest, and closing the game. To do this first get all of the items you want to dupe in your inventory, and then disable autosaves. Next open the chest and place all the items inside. Finally close the game by returning to the home menu, or turning off the console, WITHOUT leaving the chest. When you re-join the world you should have the items in your inventory and the chest.
Hopper Nether Method
From TU30[test] until TU39, you where able to duplicate anything using hoppers, and comparators in the Nether. To do this first go to the Nether and place two hoppers going into each other, with a comparator going into the back of one of the hoppers. Next place ONE of the items you want to duplicate into the hoppers. Finally enter the overworld and then go back into the nether, and continue this until the comparator is on and no longer blinking. Once that happens there should be two of the items inserted in the hoppers.
