Java Edition:Invalid Data Value Furnace (Item)
Invalid Data Value Furnaces are a type of furnace with an invalid data value. This method relies on Endermen holding invalid blocks as furnaces use data values to store what direction they are facing. This allows for the data values of 2 to 5. Like most other invalid data value items, these invalid data values all converted to regular furnaces in 17w47a.
Obtaining
From Beta 1.8 Pre-release to Beta 1.8 Pre-release 2 ;), an Enderman could be used to pick up a furnace block. Each direction is a separate data value. Once the Enderman has picked up the block, the Enderman must be loaded in versions 13w16a to 15w32c to set the HealF tag correctly so it won't die on spawn. Then, it can be updated to 15w31a to 17w46a, where the Enderman can then be killed and the invalid data value furnace can be obtained.
