Permanently Powered Lightning Rod.png

A lightning rod is a block that creates a temporary Redstone signal when hit by lightning. However, in versions 20w45a to 21w18a, it was possible to obtain a lighting rod that is permanently powered.

Obtaining

Piston Push

From snapshot 20w45 to snapshot 21w19a, you must move a lightning rod with a piston while it is being struck by lightning. This will cause that lightning rod will be permanently powered.[1] The lightning rod will keep its powered: true block state even when updated or moved by piston.

Update Suppression

Warning: Game Crash
This feature can crash the game. Perform at your own risk.

If lightning rod gets struck by lightning while it's next to an update suppressor, the lightning rod will stay powered permanently. That also causes the game to crash right after the lightning rod gets powered.

Usage

Lightning rod emits Redstone signal strength of 15 while being powered.
