Java Edition:Chopping Enchantment
In the versions Combat Test 3 (a fork of 1.14.4), Combat Test 4 (a fork of 1.15 Pre-release 3), and Combat Test 5 (a fork of 1.15.2 Pre-release 2), there was an axe enchantment called "Chopping". This would be replaced by "Cleaving" in Combat Test 6 (a fork of 1.16.2 Pre-Release 3), when updated the enchantment would become unobservable but is still present through the items NBT data.
This discontinued feature is deleted in 24w09a (1.20.5 Snapshot) due to the changes in how NBT data works.
Obtaining
Enchanting
During these 3 Combat Tests, Chopping could be applied to axes and books via enchanting tables, and could be applied to axes via anvils.
Chests
During these 3 Combat Tests, Chopping could be obtained on axes and/or books through naturally generated chests.
Trading
During these 3 Combat Tests, Journeyman and Expert Toolsmith villagers were able to sell an iron and diamond axe with the Chopping enchantment with a level between 1 and 3, and Expert Weaponsmith villagers were able to sell a diamond axe with the Chopping enchantment with a level between 1 and 3. Additionally, Librarian villagers were able to sell an enchanted book with the Chopping enchantment with a level between 1 and 3, this can replace any of the Librarians enchanted book trades.
The price of the Chopping enchantment increases as its level increases, these trades are approximately the same rarity as other enchanted books. The Toolsmith, Weaponsmith, and Librarian villagers will keep their trades when updating outside of these Combat Tests, and the enchantment will still be present but the enchantment will not be visible.

Combos
There are many possible combinations of enchantments that can be on the axe and also have this discontinued enchantment. The axe can be wooden, stone, iron, gold, diamond, or netherite. It can also be combined with other discontinued enchantments like any enchantment on any item. There are even more possible combinations because it can also be put onto an enchanted book.[test]
