19w36a False Game Rules.png

In 19w36a (1.15 snapshot), many game rules were added from Bedrock Edition for parity. These game rules were all accidentally left to false by default, when some were intended to default to true.[1]

Obtaining

Updating or creating a world in 19w36a will set these game rules to false. The only way to undo this, outside of using commands or external editing is by voting for proposals (vote rules) in April Fools' snapshot 23w13a_or_b.

Game Rules

The game rules that were affected by this were:

  • drowningDamage - The player will not take damage when drowning.
  • fallDamage - The player will not take fall damage.
  • fireDamage - The player will not take damage in fire or lava.[2]
  • doInsomnia - No phantoms will ever spawn in the world again, indirectly making them a discontinued feature, except in 20w14∞ when they spawned in other dimensions, or if obtained through their corresponding Spawn Egg.
