From 14w26a to 14w28a (1.8 snapshots) double tall grass had a chance of dropping wheat seeds with a data value of 2. These are an invalid data value item. The seeds are also a removed discontinued feature because they convert to regular seeds when updated to 17w47a (1.13) and later.
Obtaining
From 14w26a to 14w28a (1.8 snapshots), bug allowed the seeds to drop from double tall grass.[1] There was around a 10%[test] chance for the seeds to drop. They will only drop if the bottom half of the tall grass is mined not the top half. When mined they are also guaranteed to drop tall grass. As with other invalid data values when picked up it will convert to whichever (0 or 2) is in the player's inventory.
