There are 7 particular versions that are infamous for the number of discontinued features they removed.

• 14w25a (1.8 snapshot), deleted all remaining unintentional block items besides lit furnaces.
• 14w26a (1.8 snapshot), deleted all nonstandard data value variants of blocks in the world.
• 17w47a (1.13 snapshot), brought the The Flattening which deleted or converted all Invalid Data Value blocks and Invalid Data Value items
• 21w40a (1.18 snapshot), converted many variant biomes into their base versions.
• 24w09a (1.20.5 Snapshot), deleted or converted many invalid item NBT with the implementation of item components.
