Empty tag lecterns are lectern items that have an empty NBT tag. The NBT tag has no effect on the item and is only observable because it will not stack with normal lectern items. The empty tag lectern loses it discontinued empty tag when updating into 24w09a or later due to the removal of item NBT.
Obtaining
Empty lecterns are only obtainable in 1.16 Pre-release 5 due to a bug.[1] After placing a lectern in a stack, the rest of the stack gains an empty NBT tag.
