Java Edition:Jungle Leaves
Jungle leaves are leaves with a data value of 3, making them the 4th type of leaf block available in the game. Before 12w03a, this type of leaf block was only available through updating a pre Beta 1.2 world. After 12w03a, this leaf type was available through normal means with the addition of jungles. This makes jungle leaves a recontinued feature.
Obtaining
To obtain, a player must first load a world during or before Beta 1.1_02. During this time, oak leaves were the only available leaf type and data values 1-3 were used to store the decay stage of the leaves. When updating from before Beta 1.1_02 to after Beta 1.2, the leaf decay stages changed to reflect the new leaf types, with data value 3 being unused. This means that if the world is updated somewhere between Beta 1.7 to 1.1, shears could be used to obtain this unused 4th leaf variant. After 1.1, jungle leaves generated normally with the addition of jungles in 12w03a.
