In the April Fools' version 23w13a_or_b, a banner pattern called "New Thing" was added which resembles an Among Us character.

Obtaining

In 23w13a_or_b, the "New Thing" banner pattern is crafted with paper and any suspicious stew, and could be applied to banners by using the loom. When updating a banner with the "New Thing" pattern applied to it, the pattern will not be visible, but the NBT data will still be present on the block and item.

Observability

This feature is only directly observable in 23w13a_or_b, outside of 23w13a_or_b these banners are indirectly observable. Banners with this pattern can be differentiated by attempting to stack them with other banners which look identical as they will not stack due to them not having identical NBT data, another method of viewing this feature is through commands.
