Warning: April Fools'
This feature requires the usage of April Fools' versions, often requiring file renaming or file deletion to load. See the help page for information on loading these versions.

Giants were first added in Indev 0.31 20100205 and have remained almost completely unused since then. They were obtainable in two April Fools' snapshots. The giants can also be used to obtain the giant killed statistic.

Obtaining

20w14∞ Random Dimensions

One of the random mobs that 20w14∞'s random dimensions can spawn is the giant. Some examples are the "aaaaaaaaaaaaa", "b", and "z" dimensions. There is a chance that a Giant is left-handed as well, but this is unobservable, as giants cannot pick up items regardless of possessing the CanPickUpLoot:1b tag. Once found, they must be transported to another dimension that will remain after updating to later versions. The giant can be moved through a nether portal back to the overworld, or through an end portal using end portal frame items.

23w13a_or_b's natural_spawn_replacement Vote

In the April Fools' snapshot 23w13a_or_b, the vote natural_spawn_replacement can be used to replace the natural spawning of any mob with any other mob in the game, including giants. Once approved, all mobs as specified by the vote, when spawning from natural spawns, will be replaced with a mob as specified by the vote.

24w14potato

In 24w14potato, the Mega Spud boss would spawn Giants at its last phase, though these Giants were a bit different that your usual frozen massive zombie. This Giant actually attacked you and could even kill you, giving you the Killed by Giant Statistic.
