The Golden Apple was added to Minecraft in Infdev 20100227-1414, but was not normally obtainable until Infdev 20100625-1917.
Obtaining
Crafting
Golden Apples were craftable since they were added in Infdev 20100227-1414, but because Apples were not normally obtainable until Beta 1.8 Pre-release, neither were Golden Apples making Golden Apples partially dependent on Apples. If the player obtains Apples prior to Infdev 20100227-1414, the player would be able to craft Golden Apples using 1 Apple surrounded by 8 Blocks of Gold.
Structures
From Infdev 20100625-1917 to 26.1 Snapshot 3 (present) Golden Apples were added as possible loot from the structures listed below.
