Java Edition:Mutated Biomes
Every mutated biome was discontinued in the single version 16w02a (1.9 snapshot). A bug caused by a minor problem in a major refactor resulted in them not generating.[1] This was mostly fixed in the next snapshot, 16w03a (1.9 snapshot), but the Birch Forest M biome would not generate until 16w43a (1.11 snapshot).[2] All the biomes are now recontinued. The removal of these biomes also made sunflowers and packed ice unobtainable.
In 1.18 experimental snapshot 1, most of these biomes stopped generating. The only of these biomes that continued to generate in 1.18 experimental snapshot 1 were sunflower plains, wooded mountain, flower forest, tall birch forest, giant spruce taiga hills, and the shattered savanna biomes. In 1.18 experimental snapshot 2, the ice spikes and eroded badlands biomes began generating again. In 1.18 experimental snapshot 5, the jungle edge begun generating again. Finally, in 21w40a (1.17 snapshot) all the non-generating biomes were removed and any worlds updated to it will have them converted to the base biome.
