Nether in end.png

From Beta 1.9 Prerelease 4 to 14w25a you can use the portal item to place nether portals in the End. They will be limited to a single block but still function.

Obtaining

The Nether Portal Item

One can use the portal items to place nether portals in the End[1]. Once one has the item, it may simply be placed like any other block, but placing multiple next to each other will update them, causing them to look for a valid portal structure, which will destroy them. Update Suppression may be used to prevent this if one wishes to make larger portals.

Word Tearing and Any Falling Block via Asynchronous Threads

From 14w32a (1.8 snapshot) to 17w46a (1.13 snapshot), asynchronous block updates allow for the creation of falling nether portals. One must build a special contraption for their creation, as they cannot be made with the "Generic Method". Once one has obtained a falling nether portal entity, one can transport it to the end, and let it land to place the portal.

Warning: April Fools'
This feature requires the usage of April Fools' versions, often requiring file renaming or file deletion to load. See the help page for information on loading these versions.

In the April Fool's snapshot 22w13oneBlockAtATime, falling nether portal entities can be created in a a variety of ways. However, they will not land in this version. Updating beyond 22w13oneBlockAtATime will allow for the falling block to land and place the portal.

Please help in the creation of this article by expanding or improving it.
  • From From Beta 1.9 Prerelease 4 to 1.0.0-rc2 when entering the portal it creates or links to one in the nether.
  • From 1.0 to ~1.12.2[test] when entering the portal it teleports you to the same coordinates you entered the end from in the nether. Dangerous as this can put you inside lava, full blocks, or above the nether roof.
  • From ~1.13[test] to the current version portals function once again, linking to or creating new portals in the Nether
