Block palette conversion, or BPC for short, converts all sub-chunks, excluding air, into random blocks, which include illegal blocks.

If a world created in Pocket Edition v0.1.x alpha is updated to any version between Bedrock Edition 1.6.0 through 1.14.60, all sub-chunks will be corrupted, resulting in them converting to random blocks such as command blocks or permanently lit furnaces.

Downgrading

This method uses downgrading which can result in crashes, data loss, or corruption, and uses specific versions. Follow the page instructions carefully.

If a world created in Bedrock Edition v1.2.13.60 is downgraded to any version between Pocket Edition 1.0.0 through Bedrock Edition 1.2.6.1, all sub-chunks will be corrupted, resulting in them converting to random blocks such as info_update or item.unknown.name. To do this, either downgrade your world to 1.2.13.60 or create a world in 1.2.13.60 and then downgrade your client to any version from Pocket Edition 1.0.0 through Bedrock Edition 1.2.6.1 and create a world in that version. After this is successful, find your Minecraft files, navigate to the minecraftWorlds folder, and copy/paste the 1.2.13.60 world's db folder over to the second version's (1.0.0 - 1.2.6.1) world folder (make sure to delete the 1.2.6.1 db folder before pasting over). WARNING: People may consider this cheating due to the moving of files between worlds.
