The killed by mob statistic can usually be only obtained for hostile mobs, neutral mobs, boss mobs, players, pufferfish, foxes[1], allays[2], snow golems[3], or villagers[4]. However, there have been many methods of being killed by invalid mobs.

Killed by Rabbit

From 14w27a to 14w33c (1.8 snapshots), a small percentage of rabbits spawned were Killer Bunnies, which act as hostile mobs dealing large amounts of damage, which can kill the player. Once killed by the Killer Bunny, it would give the Killed by Rabbit Statistic.

Killed by Illusioner

Illusioners are not normally obtainable, except for in April Fools' snapshots 20w14∞, where Illusioners can spawn in the randomly generated dimensions, and 23w13a_or_b, where they can spawn because of certain vote rules. After obtaining an Illusioner, you must let it kill you, which will give you the Killer by Illusioner statistic.

Killed by Giant

Giants are known as giant zombie statues with no AI, meaning that they should not be able to kill players. However, in April Fools' snapshot 24w14potato, all Giants would gain AI. By first obtaining a Giant, you can then upgrade it to 24w14potato[5] and have it kill you to obtain the Killed by Giant statistic.

Negative Combo

The invalid killed by mob statistics can be combined with negative statistics in 20w06a (1.16 snapshot) and earlier if the player dies over 2.14 billion times. While theoretically possible, this would take a ludicrous amount of time.
