This page's purpose is to explain the possible routes a player can take between versions. Keep in mind there is no one path that is perfect, instead this page will focus on variants and common paths that can be taken. This page will also detail versions that the community believes are cheaty or not worth going to for a multitude of reasons. However playing these versions are not 100% intuitive as you may think, Playing Versions details critical info for playing these buggy masterpieces! Currently this page is in its very early stages of development by the community and is a hot spot for debate, because of this this page might take much longer to be at a point of semi completion

Base Path

This path is a standardized path created by many users in the discontinued features wiki. With lots of discussion, this path is the general consensus on how a basic path should look. However, this path follows a few rules that were standardized for this specific path:

  1. Absolutely no downgrading (there is a complex path below)
  2. Prioritize discontinued features over gameplay aspects.
  3. File editing is ok however NO external programs can be used.

References

  1. To update to this version and have the chests spawn you must delete the level.dat. An alternative to this is using this version as a starting place (doing it this way means you don't need to file edit).
  2. If the players starts in this version or resets the world, glass pillars will generate on top of strongholds as well at a stronghold will be generated at 0, 0.
