1.8 is a major update to Minecraft.
It may be possible to have misaligned paintings and floating gravity affected blocks using distance effects, however this is yet to be tested. It may also be possible to preserve the old pre-1.9 end fountain here.

Complex Version Path Discontinued Features

- In 1.8 (14w25a specifically), the remainder of the debug items were removed. This includes Fire (Item), Water (Item), and Lava (Item).
- In 1.8.9 or earlier a "time capsule" chunk should be made. Inside the chunk, mobs wearing armor or nothing for Weaponless Mob should be stored. The chunk shouldn't be loaded again until 1.13 or later for dual wielding mobs
- Spawn eggs can first be used on spawners in 1.8 (14w28b specifically). This allows for many more types of spawners than before.
